Oncologist visit showed that he was down 3 lbs. It did shock him, but he and I both knew he wasn’t eating much. Palliative care gave him a med that usually works on Chemo patients to make them hungry – I am sure hoping it works on him! Chemo #5 is Monday. After #6, the oncologist said they will do a scan and see the tumors status. It’s both hopeful and scary. Thanks for all your prayers, keep praying!

Chemo #4 in the books. This round he is very sleepy. We did have a medicine change and that also might be having that affect on him. Still hard to get him to eat enough (what I think is enough) and so we still have him drinking the Ensures for vitamins and calories. No weight loss this weigh in for chemo, and hoping to add another pound before the next one!

Getting into a routine. It could be the medicine change has worked to help the pain levels or the chemotherapy is starting to work. We are moving forward some. Today he took his walker “off-road” through the grass while getting to the car and he also came into the pharmacy with me. Thanks to the faithful prayer warriors – do keep praying.

Third Chemo completed, and my son is recovering. It’s seems always it hits him after the chemotherapy is finished for a few days (3-4) days where he is not feeling well, weak and has other symptoms. He has been fortunate not to have nausea, but he also doesn’t chose to eat much during this time. He has not lost any of his hair, and although some of the effects are scary, he has so far come back stronger after each round. He gained 2 lbs. at this last appointment which was cause for all the nurses to cheer and congratulate him.
Thank you for your prayers, please keep them coming. We were told that he will have 14 rounds of chemo instead of the original 4 we were expecting.

Today is my sons 3rd Chemo treatment. He knows how he feels after the infusion (48 hours) is completed and he really doesn’t want to go. Good news is that after the really hard 4-5 day recuperation once the infusion is complete, he does start feeling a bit better. His medicine has been changed since we have finally got a palliative care appointment and that is doing a bit better for him. One day he actually ate 3 meals plus fruit and several Ensure Plus nutritional drinks — but the next day he didn’t want anything to eat and only ate one meal and the Ensures. Last appointment his weight increased 2 pounds – for him that’s a lot. Thanks for your prayers and concerns. Please keep praying.
