Today will be radiation Day 3 — after which there are blood tests and port opening and then 2 hours of hydration. My son was concerned that nothing was happening because there are no ill effects so far from the radiation treatments. We see the radiation oncologist on Tuesday after his treatment. One day at a time. One day at a time.

It was not good news. The tumor did not shrink during chemo, and we were told it is inoperable and incurable. They are planning on radiation next and the goal is pain relief and to keep the tumor from growing any larger. The CT scan showed the tumor the same size, but it also showed that the cancer has not spread to any other part of his body. My son wants to do the radiation, but if the issues (pain/tumor growth) don’t get better, radiology oncologist suggested perhaps more chemo afterwards. If the radiation doesn’t affect the tumor, we will consider more chemo, but we will also then go for a second opinion about his case. Keep praying, we are still hoping for a miracle and not giving up the fight.

Thankful for the energy I have had lately to get a LOT of things done. Things that needed doing but had been put off due to my taking care of my son. These last 2 days are the bad ones and he hardly moves at all, so not as much I need to do but go check on him, fill up his drink, ask him if he wants to eat, encourage him to drink an Ensure or two, etc. We have no appointments till next week. Hoping I can spend some time entering!
