MRI results mixed. Some things are better and some about the same. Nothing I think was “worse” than it was before. Surgery not looking like an option for several reasons, but mostly because there doesn’t seem to be enough “margins” for a clean removal, plus where the remaining tumor is located. There were things that were much better than last MRI though and it did give us information that was helpful to know. If I get a better idea of what’s going on in simple terms, I’ll let you know.
The hospital system has approved financial aid for my son through 2026, so that he can continue his treatments. He will be able to have chemo and stay with his doctors and get his RXs from the hospital system without charge. Anything outside of the hospital system is not covered, including treatment of his feet. We are still trying to work on a solution for that.
Additionally, oncologist wants a new CT scan and that too will be covered as long as we get it in their system. I believe some of the results of the MRI might be different than the last CT scan and he wants to compare the results. Thanks again for all your prayers!

We went for the MRI on the 4th. No results yet. When we tried to get to see his in network podiatrist, we were told his insurance was cancelled by the receptionist. We had no notice of this happening and it was quite embarrassing. We left without care and thought of course it was a mistake. It wasn’t. They just cancelled it without notifying him and they tried a few things at his work HR dept. but could not reinstate it and now he has to do COBRA or go back to work to have insurance. We have applied for charity care, which they say will pay for his chemo treatments, RXs and Drs as long as they are within their system and they accept it as payment. I have had conflicting information about this “care” and we have not yet been able to confirm it really will cover any or all of that.
We are hopeful that it will pay for the MRI which was inside their system; but after his insurance was cancelled.
Thank you to the prayer warriors, please pray that he can continue his care or some other resolution presents itself. This part of it is very stressful, not knowing if he can continue treatment or not. By the way the COBRA cost is overwhelming at close to $900 per month.

Went to the Mini Sweepstakes Convention last weekend in Florida and had a wonderful time. Lots of prizes and fun! Now trying to decide if I can do the same for the annual Sweepstakes Convention which is being held in AZ next July. Only time I guess will tell.
My son continues to be well except for the rash which is still present. He has one more chemo treatment this Wednesday before the MRI on the 4th. of November. We are all so hopeful. He is down a full 50% on the pain meds.

Tomorrow is another chemo treatment. My son is starting to have effects from the chemo like skin rash which they told us originally before starting this particular regime is very very common. Other than that and wondering about the mass, he is still doing well. He is walking around without the walker and even helped me drag the trash cans to the front of the house yesterday so I could fill them and then take them to the street. He is doing or trying to do everything for himself although there are just a few things he still cannot do – mostly things requiring bending. Keep praying. MRI scheduled for November 4th.

October Already! Where has the time gone! This is the month (October) my son stopped working last year because the pain was overwhelming. Took him almost 3 weeks more weeks from that day to let me take him to the ER. He was septic and near death at 100 lbs from his normal 165. Looking back, it’s been a really hard year for all of us. Thanks for the prayer support. IT DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
