Today is my sons 3rd Chemo treatment. He knows how he feels after the infusion (48 hours) is completed and he really doesn’t want to go. Good news is that after the really hard 4-5 day recuperation once the infusion is complete, he does start feeling a bit better. His medicine has been changed since we have finally got a palliative care appointment and that is doing a bit better for him. One day he actually ate 3 meals plus fruit and several Ensure Plus nutritional drinks — but the next day he didn’t want anything to eat and only ate one meal and the Ensures. Last appointment his weight increased 2 pounds – for him that’s a lot. Thanks for your prayers and concerns. Please keep praying.

**Learning that the days of Chemo are not as bad as the few days after. He isn’t moving much and is in more pain that when he was having the actual chemo. Thank you all for your prayers and please keep praying.

Chemo #1 happened in the hospital as his hemoglobin was too low to do it without several blood transfusions. It did happen in hospital and it wasn’t as bad as we were expecting. Took him a few days to really be able to get up after it and move, but it has been a good progression since then. He is eating and moving, still in major pain even with the meds – and darn scared of what the second Chemo treatment will be like on Monday.
Many things have happened since this journey began and some make me just in awe of what God can do — others make me just want to cry. It’s not easy being the care taker in all of this at my age. So many things to deal with, more than even I expected to have to deal with — and yet, God has sustained me through it all. Thanks for your prayers, keep praying.
I am not back to posting, but thought I needed to just take the time and do one, so you know I am still here, trying my best to just keep up with this new version of my life and update you.
