HAPPY NEW YEAR
Update: Doctor couldn’t refute the fact that there was no measurable tumor in the last CT scan. He pointed out things that could indicate cancer, but all could be something else much less sinister. He had to agree that my son looked like he was now going backwards, getting sicker it seemed by the chemo and not being helped. He agreed to skip a chemo which would make it about a month break. We decided to make it a month break from all Dr. appointments and other things. Does this mean he doesn’t have cancer, no – but it does mean all is going so well that we could afford to take this break. It might eventually turn out that there was a misdiagnosis from the beginning, but my son was seriously ill in November 2024 when he first went to the ER. From cancer, or a massive abscess – no one might ever know for sure. We are going to go back to chemo on the 7th. of January and the doctor is going to reduce the potency of the chemo. I believe we might know more if again at the next CT scan there is still no measurable tumor. Thank you for your prayers, we have needed them and I would ask till we can say it’s gone, never was, or is in remission please keep praying.
Just a couple today. Last CT looked good from my perspective, the oncologist will tell us about it in a couple days when we have our next appointment. There were some really good “findings” on the report and I think we are going in the right direction. He is weaning off the pain meds, and walking better. As I might have mentioned he lost all his insurance at beginning of November and he has been accepted for financial aid and charity care. However, he is talking about going back to work, maybe as soon as March! Prayers appreciated. Thank you for each and every one.

Happy Thanksgiving. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
MRI confirmed things much better than with first MRI, but really didn’t compare it to any of the CT scans. So oncologist ordered a CT scan, to check some of the things the MRI was indicating, including that the tumor was not solid and lymph nodes were good. That just happened last Friday (the CT scan).
We know these different tests work different ways, but MRI is also saying there are not enough margins to deal with the tumor and the location of where it is (although at least 75% smaller) is of concern. MRI did say the tumor might not be infiltrating, but leaning on things, and also there was fibrous residue. Right now the suggestion is to continue chemo and shrink it even more. Son continues to do well, has reduced his pain meds again and still hoping to go back to work by March.
